Warranty

At Overdrive Wheel & Tire, we stand behind what we sell—and we’ll help you navigate manufacturer warranties quickly and clearly. Because wheels and tires come from different brands with different coverage, warranty terms can vary by product and finish.

1) Manufacturer warranty (wheels, tires, and accessories)

Most warranty coverage is provided by the manufacturer, not the retailer. Typical coverage may include:

Wheels

  • Structural defects (materials/workmanship)
  • Finish defects (paint/powder coat) for a limited period, depending on brand/finish

Tires

  • Workmanship/material defects
  • Limited treadwear or mileage warranties (varies by model/brand)
  • Some tires include manufacturer road-hazard programs; many do not

Because terms vary, your invoice and the brand’s warranty policy are the final reference.

2) What’s usually NOT covered

Warranty claims are commonly denied for issues caused by use, installation, or environment, such as:

  • Impact damage (potholes, curbs, rocks), bending, cracking from shock loads
  • Off-road abuse, racing/track use, drifting, or overloading beyond rated limits
  • Incorrect fitment due to undisclosed modifications (aftermarket brakes, spacers, lifts/levels, etc.)
  • Improper mounting/balancing, incorrect torque, or use of wrong lug hardware
  • Corrosion from harsh chemicals, improper cleaning, or prolonged salt exposure
  • Cosmetic wear (chips, scratches) from normal driving or debris
  • Damage from driving on a flat/underinflated tire

3) Finish care (helps protect your warranty)

Especially in Canadian winter conditions, finish issues are often preventable:

  • Rinse wheels frequently in winter to remove salt/brine
  • Use pH-neutral wheel cleaners (avoid strong acids/alkaline degreasers)
  • Avoid abrasive brushes/pads and automatic “touch” car washes
  • Don’t use metal tools directly on the wheel face during installation

4) Warranty claim process

To start a claim, you’ll typically need:

  • Order number / proof of purchase
  • Photos (overall wheel/tire + close-ups of the issue + any stamps/serials)
  • Vehicle details and fitment info
  • Installer invoice (if installed by a shop)

Important: Do not continue driving on a damaged wheel/tire. If the issue is visible upon arrival, report it before mounting/installation.

5) Resolution timelines and outcomes

Most manufacturers require inspection and will decide the remedy:

  • Repair, replacement, or prorated credit (common for tires)
  • Claims may take time depending on inspection and stock availability
  • Shipping/installation charges are usually not reimbursed unless specifically approved by the manufacturer

6) Our support promise

We’ll help you:

  • Confirm the correct warranty path (manufacturer vs. shipping damage vs. install issue)
  • Gather the right documentation
  • Submit the claim and communicate with the brand on your behalf when possible
